Group Home - Poplar River First Nation

The Group Home provides live-in, out-of-home care placement for children typically aged 6 - 10 years. Placements in the facility are time limited and offer safe and supervised transitional accommodation for kids in care. The facility can accommodate 22 children.

Sited at a special point where the Poplar and Franklin Rivers meet Lake Winnipeg, the Group Home is sited and designed to connect to both the land and the water.  Outdoor, land based education and recreation activities can be conducted in an enclosed courtyard and along the water’s edge.

Resident rooms are located in a circle with reference to talking, education and sharing circles.
