Poplar River Medical Centre

A 3,000 ft2 main addition and a new 700 ft2 patient loading bay are planned for the exist. 6,000 ft2 health care facility.  The main addition is a largely independent  mass connected to the exist. building via a narrow entrance passage, which also serves to separate primary and secondary care.

A formal security office is connected to the main entry, and now controls access to either building side.

Select areas within the exist. building are reconfigured to accommodate both new and relocated programs.   The existing interior will be modernized to house new and expanding Home and Community Care services. The project will also improve barrier free accessibility and provide for ambulatory and non-ambulatory patient drop-off zones.

The exterior - new and existing - will receive the same new cladding and roofing, and all windows and exterior doors in the the exist. building will be replaced.

The patient loading bay is an enclosed, heated space.
